Mission or goal: Western Maine Community Action is dedicated to the idea that people can help themselves if the appropriate resources, education, and support exists. It is our mission to advocate for, strengthen, and coordinate all resources-private, local, state and federal-that will assist us in promoting the self-sufficiency and independence of people.
Volunteer iopportunities: Office assistance, data entry, family advocate, Operation Santa Claus, Head Start, affordable homes (carpentry, electrical, wallpapering), rototilling, transportation, and special projects.
Required training: We provide training, depending on the program.
Time requirement: From 2 hours per week to 35 hours per week. Some projects are short term, others are ongoing all year.
